A Little About Me

Hi!   I’m Kari Harrington – a wife, a mother, a grandmother, (Nana) a teacher, a student, just to name a few.  This is my first time blogging.  It should be an interesting journey!  I’m a third grade teacher at Hiddenite Elementary School in Hiddenite, NC.   I was born and raised in a small town in upstate New York, not far from the Canadian border.  I moved to NC in 2000.  I love it here and consider it home sweet home!  The Foothills here remind a lot of the Foothills of the Adirondacks. I think that was why it was so easy to choose this area to live.  Not to mention all the wonderful people and friends I have met along the way.  Especially my husband, Allan!  We have five sons and four grandchildren between the two of us.  We are diehard Appalachian football fans, as well as the Carolina Panthers. (In spite of how they played this past season!)  I am currently working on my Masters in Reading, and this is what led me to blogging – a class requirement, but I think it is going to be a fun one!  I received my National Board Certification last year.  I figured if I could do that, (and survive) I could get my Masters as well.  So far it has been a great experience.  My heritage and roots are Norwegian.   I have a strong love for my family there and the country as well.  Just a little bit about me.  Thanks for stopping by!  Kari
