consumption - Acrostic Poem About Tuberculosis

i-am-45-franklin-avenue - I Poem about Cure Cottages

I wrote my reflection for tonight’s class on my regular post page.  This was a “Wow” night and everyone did an amazing job.  I am going to attempt to upload my Photo Story Video that I created for this project.  It runs approximately 35 minutes long.  It covers the history of Tuberculosis, the cure cottages, the Norwegians buried there, and the connection to my father, Knute Grytebust, who served in the Norwegian Royal Navy and contracted TB in 1943. Update 4/18….no luck yet, but will keep trying!  The one exciting thing that has happened is that The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, NY has asked for a copy of my Photo Story video when it is complete and on disk to put in their educational library.  There are so many exciting things and connections I have made because of this project!  It has been such a wonderful (sometimes difficult and emotional) journey!

  1. I was a wow night and yours was well thought out, beautifully created, and personal. I am really touched that you took a class project and made it personal. Your father will be touched and you have created a family heirloom. I am very proud.
